The technology of additive manufacturing offers potentially great advantages for the development of structural components with reinforced plastics, such as a high degree of design freedom and flexible scaling. In order to better utilize the potential of this process for series production, AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH and M.TEC ENGINEERING GmbH have joined forces to develop a holistic approach to the development of 3D-printed structural components: from the development of the 3D printing process and printable material to the simulative mapping of the printing process and the determination of local mechanical properties of the printed component during the development process.
