The Feddersen Group based in Hamburg

The Feddersen Group is well established in a wide range of industries related to engineering plastics and employs over 1000 people worldwide.

K.D. Feddersen specializes in the global trade and distribution of engineering plastics and products, chemicals and raw materials. AKRO-PLASTIC has been part of the Feddersen Group for 30 years and is a specialist for innovative and application-oriented plastic compounds. AF-COLOR, a branch office of AKRO-PLASTIC, has been operating under its own name since 2003 and is specialized in the production of black, color and additive masterbatches. As another branch of AKRO-PLASTIC, BIO-FED develops and markets biodegradable and bio-based plastics. The focus of FEDDEM GmbH & Co. KG is focused on mechanical engineering and the production of twin screw extruders, compounding lines as well as turnkey systems. The Feddersen Group is complemented by Voß Edelstahlhandel GmbH & Co. KG, which specializes in the supply of stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metal. The contract compounding experts of PolyComp have been part of the Feddersen Group since 2013. Based in Norderstedt near Hamburg, they specialize in contract and licensed production of engineering plastics.

All in all, the group of companies therefore operates globally with an extensive range of services and networks for the greatest possible success of its customers.

Positioned for a shared future

Integrating M.TEC into the Group's range of products and services gives the Feddersen companies access to unique engineering expertise and enables them to enter the world of highly specialized engineering services. The addition of the engineering company from Aachen expands the Group's overall portfolio by holistic and economical engineering solutions based on knowledge-based services as well as exclusive access to top-level research at the Excellence University RWTH Aachen.

For M.TEC, the merger also opens up new and expanded opportunities, for example in materials and process development. Thus, they are even more broadly and networkedly positioned for the challenges of future markets such as e-mobility and lightweight construction. Access to the Group's resources therefore means that M.TEC has the opportunity to focus more strongly on innovation topics and the expansion of international business without losing its independence, for example in terms of material selection. M.TEC's customers will therefore retain the proven interdisciplinary and completely independent development competence in its entirety, supplemented by new opportunities: An exciting advancement of the Aachen-based engineering service provider.

The Feddersen Group's priority: Giving something back to society

"Acting for mankind through global trade."

The motto of Karl Detlev Feddersen, who founded K.D. Feddersen & Co. Handelsgesellschaft in 1949, still forms the foundation for the daily work of all companies in the Feddersen Group today. Therefore, the non-profit K.D. Feddersen Foundation, which is the sole shareholder of the holding company, opened a residential and nursing home in Hamburg in 1984. Since then, it has provided a dignified home for 220 senior citizens. In a safe and welcoming environment, the residents live largely independently together with trained staff who take care of their daily needs.
