In-Mold Labeling

In in-mold labeling (IML) - a (printed) film is preformed in the thermoforming process, for example. This film is placed in an injection mold and back-injected with plastic. The advantages of this process are

  • Good surface of the components,
  • Abrasion-resistant decoration of the components and
  • Simple design change of the component surface

Simulation In-Mold-Labeling

M.TEC is a service provider for the simulation of in-mold labeling. M.TEC's calculation engineers simulate the complete process of in-mold labeling, taking into account the correct heat transfer to the film. This is the prerequisite for reliable statements about the shrinkage and warpage behavior of the component including the back-molded decorative foil.
