M.TEC holds presentation on recyclates in engineering at VDI conference on plastics recycling management

Technical plastic components made from recycled materials require new development principles

Veröffentlicht in: Uncategorized

The VDI conference "Circular Economy Plastics" of the VDI Knowledge Forum on November 7-8 in Cologne will address the latest developments of collection, processing and use of recyclates and corresponding national and European standards and strategies as well as the question of how artificial intelligence and digital methods can be used in the transition to a circular economy. M.TEC ENGINEERING GmbH participates in the conference with the presentation "Technical plastic components made from recycled materials require new development principles".

How the switch to recycled material affects the development process

Ulf Seefeldt, M.TEC ENGINEERING GmbH

New ways of product development have become essential for the shift from linearity to cycle-based products and processes. Ulf Seefeldt (LinkedIn profile), Dipl.-Ing. with more than 28 years of experience in the engineering of products and technical plastics, will show you in his lecture on November 7th at 11:45 a.m. changes in the product development process with regard to the material selection of recycled materials. In addition to a changed approach, the transformation toward greater sustainability also includes innovative, AI-based development methods. These new, simulation-based methods within the development process are an important building block for being able to achieve a reduction in material use and energy consumption in production and throughout the entire product life cycle.

VDI Conference "Circular Economy Plastics" 2023

The VDI conference will be chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Josef Endres, head of the Institute of Plastics and Circular Economy of the Production Technology Center of Leibniz Universität Hannover. The institute's research focuses on the development and processing as well as the recycling and circular economy of plastics and composites.
